Limerick – Pain

After “winning” last week’s challenge – which is genuinely the first time I’ve won anything for my writing – I’m back for more… and this time I’ve brought cute back-up! If you’ve a lust for a limerick, are randy for a rhyme, or go potty for poetry, please join in too! 🙂

If ever you’re feeling in pain
There’s something I need to explain
A positive mind
Will help you to find
The best way to handle the strain

What could be less stressful than looking at a bundle of kittens?

Haiku – Trust Yourself

Trust in your instincts
Sensing the progress you make
Step by awkward step

I wrote this in reply to Annette’s soulful haiku yesterday – https://annetterochelleaben.wordpress.com/2016/01/12/soul-to-sole/ – thought I’d share it here too 🙂

Haiku – No Limits

Accept no limits.
Tear up “wait”… “can’t”… “cease”… “not yet”
And MEET the challenge!

Written for secret keeper’s weekly challenge, using the prompts – wait, meet, tear, accept, cease. http://thesecretkeeper.net/2016/01/04/weekly-writing-prompt-18/

When Doubt Came Knocking (poem)

When doubt came knocking at my door
I tried to keep her out
Hid beneath my bed and then
Ignored her every shout

She whispered through the letterbox
Poured poison on my dreams,
Sapped my store of confidence:
Is nothing what it seems?

But as I sat there, tested
I heard a voice within.
Stand up, be tall, have no fear:
You shall not let her win!

So…

When doubt again came knocking at my door
I showed her where to go
Picked up my trusty pen and then
Went merrily with the flow
