OctPoWriMo #9 – Elemental (haiku)

Feet pickled with damp
From the comforting ground mist;
Fiery thoughts still rage

          1. Please Forgive me!! My mind is slipping away more quickly than I realized–I was thinking of another person, Bastet, in Italy, who just participated in what they call “reuse” (recycle) day. Gosh, I feel like a right idiot now… 🙁

              1. You’re a very kind gentleman 🙂 So…why don’t you start the Reuse a Post challenge, eh?? I’d go for it–have plenty to reuse 🙂 If you don’t have time, though–I might go ahead and start it, crediting you of course. Doesn’t matter, either way–you have a great idea, there!

                  1. Oh I know–I don’t do Halloween, but have had a poem start niggle-nagging in the back of my brain’s closet. Sounds Great–I’ll watch for Nov challenge–yaaaayyy!

  1. So nicely done with the haiku form. To set in the first two lines the feelings of the serene connection to nature, while the last two line so perfectly expresses in spite of this we are still susceptible to allowing our inner rage to blind us to serenity around us,

      1. Indeed. As someone who can go on and on both in my mind and on paper, I like the haiku tanka etc forms in part because they force me to say what I want to say with “less,” rather than a massive wave of “more.”
