OctPoWriMo #20 – Real Love

It’s the grit not the pearl
Wherein love is found
Working through your problems
And sticking around

It’s turning up each day
Putting in the hours
Love is in the listening:
Not in hearts and flowers

The grit makes the pearl
Slowly over time
Layer upon layer
Beautiful, sublime

  1. A-balone! Just kidding, I’m in a frisky mood–Most Lovely poem, yours…showing up each day, and listening. I agree with Annette (I’m convinced I jinxed my marriage by writing our vows…stars in my eyes, no clue of reality).

    1. Thanks Greg! The beauty, and the challenge, of responding to a daily prompt is that you never know where it will lead, or how it will work out, so I’m glad that you liked this one!
