OctPoWriMo #13 – Risky Business (poem)

My face doesn’t fit
I don’t belong
I had potential
It’s all gone wrong

Nobody gets me
The smiles are false
I was meant for more
A part of the pulse

But I’m just a tourist
No right to be here
Not built for better
Living in fear

I’m feeling exposed
Nowhere to hide
It’s time for some truth:
Drop the disguise

This is today’s contribution to OctPoWriMo – a challenge to write a poem a day during October. Today’s challenge was to take some risks, and consider the prompts: Exposed – Honesty – Chance

  1. You’ve quite the way with words… Not certain that anyone has ever bothered to point that out. From the department of redundancy, department. 🙂
