Cruising on vapours
At the end of a long year
Reflecting sadly

  1. Eloquent. It does remind me of those times of driving “on vapors” wondering if I can drive the miles before the next gas station, psyching myself for a long walk in inclement weather, each mile the car drove seen as a mile not had to be walked, and then when it seems as if there could reasonably no more vapors left, the engine still running, although coughing, sputtering, the car slides into the pump, just as the last of the improbable vapors are used.
