Haiku Challenge – "Bust" & "Must"

Two contributions from me for Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge – “bust” and “must” being the theme words. Check out lots of great haiku on Ronovan’s blog: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/ronovanwrites-weekly-haiku-poetry-prompt-challenge-57-bust-must/

My writing career
Has many needs, and one MUST:
Agent deal or bust!

#2
Raucous wedding brawl;
Black eyes, bust lips, bruised knuckles.
It must be true love.

  1. Rowdy fellow, eh? That wedding sounded like quite the fodder for an excellent story. Something certain to capture the attention of an agent, a producer… perhaps a reality tv show in your future?

    1. A product solely of my imagination… I know from past experience that I can take a punch (from my days working in a bingo hall!), but I’ve never had to deliver one myself… 🙂

      1. Sweet! I can see a reality show based on a bingo hall! Okay, this might even get me to buy a television one day… okay NOT but I still think this is a genius idea…

  2. From getting a writing deal with a great agent to what sounds like an Irish Wedding after too much brew. Enjoyed both your Haiku, but the writing deal would be perfect. Here’s wishing. Cheers! jk 😀

  3. I agree with Ritu: good ones!

    Your first one inspired me…related to the same theme, and, sadly, it’s true (but no “must” or “bust”).

    I had an agent.
    She quit unexpectedly.
    I’m back to square one.

    1. That’s awful… Trying to find a bright side from that, at least it shows that your work is good enough to get an agent’s attention… Now it’s a case of finding the “right” agent to do your work justice

    1. Thank you. The variety is not accidental – I enjoy the challenge of trying different approaches and styles with the prompts. The fact that I’m a little hooked on haiku obviously helps too!
