Hi there, I’m Al.

Come in, take your shoes off, have a seat by the fire. Have some cake. Would you like to hear a story?

I am a writer, of stories, of poems, of songs, of whimsical ditties and heartbreaking ballads. Of haiku and rhymes, for children and adults, on zombies and love and clouds and puddles and, yes, cake. Of words that will lift and inspire, make you laugh, or chill you to the bone… possibly all at the same time.

Try not to drop any crumbs on the carpet. Friends are always welcome, but I hate wasting cake. πŸ™‚

I am a prolific poet and blogger, as you’ll see from my blog: https://altheauthor.wordpress.com/

  2. Hi Al. Thanks for dropping by my Haikuhound blog and deciding to follow and stay in touch. In turn I have visited your blog and enjoyed the directness of your poetry, very inclusive and connecting.

    1. Thanks for the feedback Meredith. I still have so much to learn about running a website – hope you stay with me while I’m figuring it out! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Marje… the simple style reflects my lack of technical skill to get much on here at the moment! It will grow and develop as I learn πŸ™‚

  3. Best Twitter quote I ever read was by some random woman who said she keeps a fork in her purse “in case cake happens.”

If your real name is Alistair Lane I’m afraid you’re legally bound to be a writer. It just doesn’t get any more writerly than that. Just don’t say it too fast or people will think you’re Elaine.

If you can actually bake a decent chiffon with buttercream icing, I’ll be right over.

  4. Hi Alistair, thanks for coming in to see me at Steve Says! Come again, stay a while – have a drink even. I look forward to seeing more of you in the blogging world. Don’t forget, if you like music then check out my music blog talkaboutpopmusic.com. Steve…
